Mount Gigolos, western Crete

The hiking tour starts from the Omalos Plateau in the White Mountains. Instead of following the busy trail down to the Samaria Gorge, we go uphill on Mount Gigolos with nice views of Samaria National Park. Up on the mountain, you are offered a nice view of large parts of western Crete with the Libyan Sea in the south and in the north, you can see the Cretan Sea.

Length: 10 km. (Linear).

Level difference: 734 m. (1240/1974 m).

Difficulty: Medium/difficult on rocky nature trails.

Experience: Alpine landscape with beautiful views.
